In Paris, Tori will seek to become the first American woman to win an Olympic medal in the triple jump. She is no stranger to setting new standards; in 2022, she became the first American woman to win a triple jump medal at the world championships, claiming the bronze medal in Eugene, OR with a season’s best leap of 14.72m/48-4. The 2023 season was not as kind, as she failed to advance to the final in that year’s world championships in Budapest.
This Olympic year, however, has seen a return to form as she showed remarkable consistency in the Olympic Trials, reaching 13.72m/45-0¼ twice, plus 13.70m, to claim the third spot on the Olympic team, albeit by just two centimeters. Tori’s personal best remains the since-broken US record of 14.84m/48-8¼ that she set in Guadeloupe in 2018.
In 2023, Tori published a memoir entitled, “You Anthem: Stories and Reflections of Celebration.” Since 2021, she has lived in Athens, Greece.
Paris Result:
14th place, 14.02m/46-0; Eliminated in qualification round.
