At the US Trials in Indianapolis in June, Drew placed third in the 200m freestyle, thereby earning a place on the 4x200m freestyle relay team for the Paris Games. Most certainly, he will be hoping for a position at least one place higher than the team’s fourth placing at the Tokyo Games in 2021. That would be a fine complement to the gold medals already in his possession from the 4x200m freestyle at both the 2022 world long and short course championships, the latter in a world record time.
Not to be overlooked are his silver from the 2023 world long course championships and his bronzes from the 4x100m mixed freestyle relay at the 2022 long course world championships and the 4x100m freestyle at the same year’s short course championships. Also in 2022, he finished fourth in the individual 200m freestyle at the 2022 World Aquatics Championships.
The swimwear brand Arena has worked with Drew to design his own signature swimsuit line, inspired by a mix of his personal style and his passion for art.
Paris Result:
Silver medal, 4x200m freestyle relay (7:00.78).
