While majoring in aerospace engineering at the University of Michigan, Adam also found time to claim two NCAA D1 silver medals at 285lbs (2015, 2018). In 2014, he had contested the 120kg divisions in both freestyle and Greco-Roman at the World Junior Championships, claiming bronze in both, a rare double.
Four years later, at the senior level, he won the silver medal in the 130kg GR division at the 2018 World Championships, an accomplishment he followed with a 2019 Pan-American Championships title, and a 2020 Pan-American Championships silver medal.
Although never having played football in college, in the summer of 2021 Adam was signed by the Tennessee Titans as an offensive lineman; in January 2023, he signed as an offensive guard for the Seattle Sea Dragons of the XFL.
Adam was an alternate on the 2016 US Olympic team, and missed selection in 2020; thus, Paris will be his first Games.
