Olivia Coffey was already an accomplished veteran before she went to the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021. In 2013, 2015 and 2018 she had claimed world championships gold medals in the four, quad sculls and eight, respectively. Add to that tally world championships bronze medals in the quad sculls (2014) and eight (2019), and the evidence of a fearsome competitor is clear.
Possibly that is a trait that she inherited from her father, who was an Olympic silver medalist in the men’s pair in 1976. At the Tokyo Games, however, Olivia finished out of the medals, being in the eight that placed fourth.
When she isn’t training, Olivia works as an investment professional at One Equity Partners, a private equity firm.
