Nick Mead hails from a rowing dynasty, his father having rowed at Princeton (’81) and his mother and brother both having taken to the water in the colors of the University of Pennsylvania. Nick himself has already savored the Olympic experience; he competed in the Tokyo Games of 2021, placing fourth in the men’s eight.
Nick’s major championship success stretches back as far as 2017 when he was in the eight that claimed the silver medal at the world championships in Sarasota, FL. Last year, 2023, in Belgrade, Serbia, he replicated the placing, this time in the coxless four. Fittingly, US Rowing recognized Nick as its Athlete of the Year for 2023.
